Daycenter Building Project

Exterior Concept of the New IRC Building
In March 2009 the Richard Strasser family donated a building at 407 E. Washington Street for the express purpose of housing a day center for homeless people. Moser Mayer Phoenix Associates has drawn up architectural plans; the Samet Corporation has agreed to act as general contractor. A true community initiative, the upfit of the building will be funded by the City of Greensboro, Guilford County, private foundations, corporate sponsors, faith communities and individuals.
Slated to be completed in the summer of 2010, the new and much larger downtown location will allow us to reach many more people in need. In addition to the programs already in place, the new IRC will include a garden, an art program and a wellness program.
Naming opportunities are still available; please contact Liz Seymour at 336/332-0824 or liz [at] gsodaycenter.org for a full list of possible spaces.
